Life is like a box of...

- Cereal, you have to dig deep to claim your prize.

- Crayons, every crayon is a different shape and different color.

- Cigarettes, the more you breath the closer you come to death.

- Chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.

We use metaphors and simile's to describe our life experiences all the time. However, most people do not realize how detrimental negative metaphors can be to our mental state of mind. For example, someone who says, "Life is a daily grind", often has a much different view on life than someone who thinks that "Life is a bowl of cherries."

Metaphors are meant to be taken figuratively, not literally. If you use metaphors or figures of speech to describe certain situations in your life, make sure they are positive ones.

"Everyday is a new beginning"

"All the world's a stage"

"Life is a blank canvas"

In the next couple of weeks, take notice of the metaphors that you and others around you use in everyday conversation. Notice how some are negative and some are positive. After studying other people start to change your own metaphors into positives. You will soon start to notice a positive difference in your thought process.

What is SEO and how can it benefit your business?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is the process of manipulating content on your website to increase your ranking on Google, Yahoo, MSN or other search engines. The idea behind this is that if your Web page is on the first or second page of a search engine, the odds of someone finding you increases dramatically. Studies show that nearly 40% of all Internet users do not look past the first 2 pages of a search engine. Therefore, SEO can play a vital role in the success of your business.
