Top five tips for extending the life of your BlackBerry battery

Although your BlackBerry battery should last several hours before needing recharging, there are some simple steps that you can take to prolong the life of your battery throughout the day. Because I follow these five steps, my battery life usually last 1.5 days with fairly heavy use. So here we go...

  1. Change the brightness of your backlight to a lower setting. (You will find this under screen/keyboard in options)
  2. Make sure that you have a magnetic sleep holster that puts the device into standby mode when you put it away. Store your BlackBerry in the holster as often as possible.
  3. Enable the Auto ON/Off to automatically turn off your device before you go to bed and turn it back on before you get up. You wont even know that it was off.
  4. Turn your Bluetooth Off when you are not using it. Bluetooth sucks up the battery.
  5. When you are in a jam for juice, turn off the wireless connection. Your BlackBerry is always connected, and will constantly try to get new data. This process uses much of your battery.
Oh yeah, I know that this is the 5 tips of saving your BlackBerry battery but I have one more. If you are roaming, make sure to turn your wireless off because if it is left on your device will continue to search for a signal, hence sucking the battery life from it.

Follow these simple steps and you will get a significant increase in battery life. I hope this was helpful.
