India threatens to shut down BlackBerry Network

The Indian government is threatening to shut down the RIM network. They are demanding the ability to decrypt messages sent to and from their country. What does this mean? Well, it could mean that any wireless date transmission could be subject to spying. This may make any wireless ecommerce impossible because of security reasons.

Indian government officials and RIM executives are meeting this week to try and pan out a solution that will hopefully be resolved shortly.

I have a feeling that this one is going to take more than just a couple of weeks to hash out. And I believe it is going to be a bumpy ride for all of those on board.

However, I am confident that they can work it out. This is not the first time RIM has been stuck in a sticky situation.

I am pulling for you RIM. Good Luck! For more on this, click here.
