It pays to stand out !
Our company recently participated in a technology trade show. Every vendor at the show had an attractive booth that they paid hundreds if not thousands of dollars for, except for us. We made ours out of a photo studio backdrop and a couple of signs that we velcroed to it. It is was very low budget. However, even though our booth wasn't the fanciest, we still stole the show.
Our booth had more traffic, gained more leads and will be remembered for years to come. How did our little home made booth do this? Simply by "standing out."
We came up with a theme for our booth, and invited visitors to join in on the fun. For this show the theme was Las Vegas. We purchased a prize wheel that people walking by could spin to win a trip for two to Las Vegas, or a free training course from KnowledgeAir. We all dressed up in tuxedo shirts, bow ties, top hats, and giant sun glasses to assure that we looked different than everyone else at the show. We interacted with the people passing by and created a fun atmosphere. All of this was enough to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Not only did we gain a ton of business cards and qualified leads, but we were also memorable. If you were to ask any person at that show what vendors were there, they for certain wouldn't forget about KnowledgeAir.
All of the other vendors simply blended in with the crowd. They all sat there at their booths waiting for someone to stop by. Unfortunately for them, few did.
What is my point? If your business is not standing out then you are losing out. Does your business stand out or do you blend in with everyone else?
